Plenty of people I know love having titles. They love the sound of their name and what comes after it. Mr. So and so – CEO of Company X. Ms. Yadah Yadah – Senior consultant of Blah Blah department. I mean who wouldn’t want their names sounding important, right? I’m sure all of us do. It is a source of pride and achievement. Yes. Titles do give us that sense of accomplishment. It tells us that we have made it. We are on a pedestle. We have reached the top. And I applaud you. Well done. (more…)

People say that not all are meant to be leaders.  In some instance, that is true. Not all are meant to become presidents of nations, CEOs of multinational companies or clerics of religious denominations. Before you even become a leader, you must ask yourself why? Your intentions must be clear.

Is it because of the privilege of helping people? Is it because you see yourself as someone who can guide a team to victory? Is it because you have an intense passion to move forward and succeed?

Or is it because of the bright lights, the perks, and the soothing sound of your name when it’s mentioned with your title? (more…)
