Leaders are made. Leaders are developed in time. Leaders make mistakes. Leaders learn. Leaders are not perfect. Leaders are a work in progress. LEADER IN PROGRESS is a dynamic blog of Rodney Garcia giving insights and opinions in the realm of leadership. Practical. Down-to-earth. Common sense. Effective.

What makes a Great Leader to me 

Leaders must yield themselves to the word of God, with humble and teachable minds. Being willing to hear of his/her faults, taking it not only patiently, but thankfully.

GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995)
Remember this, my dear brothers and sisters: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and should not get angry easily.

Hi pastor ^_^ greetings in christ!

I agree to what you've said... a person would not want to follow a leader, even if he is the president of whatever, who does not even set as a good example to others. His influence greatly affects the people's desire whether to follow him or not.

hi pastor! a great leader for me is someone who will make me not to worry to where i am going, when he is teaching or showing me the right way. A good servant equates a great leader. He/she must have a passion or "the calling" with what he is doing in order to be an inspiration or to influence the other for the better, and lastly who value the worth of its members..

Hi pastor! ^_^

For me, a great leader has to be passionate. He/she has to have passion in what he/she is doing to be able to influence his/her followers and make them passionate as well.

Hi pastor! :) "A great leader is also a great follower." That's a saying that may be considered old but its value will always have its worth. If a person is called to be a leader, he/she must know how to listen. Furthermore, thinks not of himself but more of his members' and/or others' welfare as well. Leadership is not all about being a leader. It entails having the responsibility, the heart of service and the right motives. Thank you for posting these articles pastor! keep blessed! :) God bless!!

A great leader is a great servant... You can never lead if you don't know how to serve or you don't serve. Even JESUS shows us that, one great example was when He washed the disciples feet. GOD will lift us up when we humble ourselves, being a servant is a humbling experience :D

YOu know, I'm VERYVERYVERY happy being a follower. I'm a good one too. Leading is okay and I've done it a few times but there's nothing like following an excellent leader, being loyal to him or her and getting the work that he/she can't do, done. I also looooooove working in teams or tandems but am fine doing certain things alone. Maybe you can talk a bit more about following? I think that that's a GREAT gift.
